ALWAYS REMEMBER WHY THE BABY WAS BORN – 25 December 2018 Message

During this time of the year, it is so easy to be swept away by the "spirit of the season". The world engages in shopping, parties and social gatherings. Although many know about the birth of Jesus, very view people live their lives in such a way that it honors why Jesus actually came to the earth. Jesus left His place of splendor, beauty, glory, holiness, wonder, and perfection to come to this broken world, full of sin and imperfection to come and redeem it. He was willing to sacrifice Himself in order to deal with man's problem of sin and eternal death. That same baby lying in the wooden manger would one day be hanging on a wooden cross, innocent as He was, yet receiving the punishment for our sins.

Yes, during this time of the year we remember the baby in a manager, but we should never forget the reason why the baby was born. He was born to die. He was born to one day suffer the most terrible death on a cross in order to absorb the wrath of a Holy and Righteous God against sin. God loves us so much that He was willing to receive the punishment on our behalf. What are you doing with this gift? Do you live your life in such a way that it honors the magnitude of God's gift towards you, His Son? The measure of God’s love towards us is shown by the degree of his sacrifice in saving us from the penalty of our sins: “he gave his only Son” (John 3:16). Never forget why Jesus came to the earth. The baby in the manger is the Lamb that would be slain. May the LORD help us all to remember the birth of Jesus so that we may share in the song of the angels, experience the gladness of the shepherds, and the worship of the wise men. God bless you all, Pastor Abri

Scripture verse ponder about

Isaiah 9:6-7

For unto us a Child is born, Unto us a Son is given; And the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Of the increase of His government and peace there will be no end, Upon the throne of David and over His kingdom, To order it and establish it with judgment and justice from that time forward, even forever. The zeal of the LORD of hosts will perform this.
