Fitness has always been an important part of my life. I completed a Diploma in Fitness Training when I was 19 while working part time as a swimming instructor and weight training at the gym, and I received a black belt in martial arts in my mid-twenties.
I wanted to use the interests God has graciously given to me to create a fun social women's fitness group at MBCC where women of all fitness levels can workout together in a loving and supportive environment. The Bible says our bodies are fearfully and wonderfully made by God, so that means every woman is a precious work of art. It also means we need to look after ourselves. Exercise, stretching and movement is beneficial for mind, body and soul, and I believe any investment we make into our personal fitness is worth our effort.
Married with three daughters and working full time, I understand how hard it can be to make time to exercise regularly while juggling responsibilities. My hope is that the MBCC Women's Group Fitness will provide a fun way to add fitness and movement into our lives, thanking God for our bodies while we move and creating a community of joy and wellbeing.
